Accounts Receivable Specialist

Our client located in Marlboro VT (20 minutes West of Brattleboro VT) is looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist.  This is a full-time temp-to-hire opportunity offering $16-$19/hour depending on experience.  

Accounts Receivable Specialist Responsibilities:

  • Set up new accounts in the accounting system
  • Process charges on accounts for various expenses
  • Import financial assistance data into the accounting system
  • Receive new contracts from the payment plan billing provider and record total financial obligation
  • Process and record bank deposits, import online payments, down payments on contracts and periodic payments on payment plans
  • Bill and collect payments and send periodic past due reminders
  • Review account payment terms and conditions by email, phone and in person
  • Place administrative holds as needed
  • Place unpaid balances with a collection agency
  • Conduct ongoing reconciliation of financial records
  • Prepare and distribute  tax forms in accordance with related government regulations and procedures
  • Interact with other offices to effectively coordinate and obtain information as needed
  • Provide ad hoc and periodic reports for accounting department, other departments and auditors
  • Function as backup to other accounting positions as required in periods of peak workloads and absences

Accounts Receivable Specialist Requirements:

  • Associates degree in accounting or business
  • Three years of experience in an accounting position
  • Demonstrated understanding of charges, credits and invoices
  • Superior oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to respond courteously to customers
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting systems and Microsoft Office suite
