Full-Charge Bookkeeper

Our client, a wonderful family owned business located in Brattleboro VT, is looking to hire a part-time Full-Charge Bookkeeper.  This is a temp-to-hire opportunity offering a pay range of $16-$20/hour depending on experience.  The schedule can be somewhat flexible on 3-4 days per week - approximately 28 hours.

Full-Charge Bookkeeper Responsibilities:

  • Complete all accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and cash/asset management tasks
  • Reconcile monthly bank statements
  • Perform month end closings
  • Coordinate quarterly and year end tax processes
  • Prepare monthly sales tax reporting
  • Process invoices and post payments
  • Prepare checks
  • Manage credit applications and tax exemption forms
  • Work with the bank as needed to ensure best earning potential with deposited funds
  • Stay current with the most efficient accounting processes and systems
  • Communicate with management and provide reports as requested
  • Assist with Human Resource functions and employee benefit administration
  • Complete other administrative tasks and projects as assigned

Full-Charge Bookkeeper Qualifications and Attributes:

  • 2+ years experience in general accounting/bookkeeping 
  • Strong computer skills MS Office and QuickBooks
  • Degree in business or accounting preferred
  • Professional demeanor
  • Positive attitude
  • Trustworthy and reliable
  • Able to maintain confidential information
  • Highly motivated
  • Able to meet deadlines and work independently
  • Top notch organization skills
  • Able to manage multiple competing priorities
  • Proactive approach and good problem solving skills
