Job Description

Our client, a busy and growing medical office located in Keene, has an immediate need for a full time Medical Office Assistant.  This is a temp-to-hire position that will have you working 5 days per week and will include 2-3 Saturdays per month.  The hours are either 8:30am-5:00pm or 9:30am-6:00pm and the position offers $13-$15/hour depending on experience.  This is a great company that values their team members and offers excellent benefits including medical/dental/life insurance, paid time off, 401k profit share, eye exams, glasses, continuing education and lots of opportunities to learn and grow.

Your duties as the Medical Office Assistant:

  • Greet patients and visitors to the office
  • Answer and direct incoming calls
  • Assist Doctor and conduct initial assessments
  • Type office visit notes for the doctor
  • Update patient records
  • Schedule appointments and call patients
  • Assist patients with frame selection and orders
  • Merchandise and display all frames
  • Order products for patients
  • Manage warranty replacements and coordinate product returns as needed
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA

Your skills/qualifications for the Medical Office Assistant position:

  • High School Diploma
  • Solid computer skills
  • Fast and accurate data entry skills
  • Customer Service experience
  • Problem solving skills and attention to detail
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Team player with excellent work history
  • Medical office experience or pharmacy technician experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of medical insurance and terminology is preferred
  • Electronic medical records (EMR) experience is preferred
