Our busy client located in Walpole NH is looking to hire a Purchasing Manager.  This Direct Hire opportunity is an immediate need, pay will be commensurate with experience.  The Purchasing Manager manages the procurement department and all buying activities for the company.

Purchasing Manager Duties:

  • Develop a purchasing strategy in line with business goals
  • Implement strategic sourcing practices with an eye on quality and cost effectiveness
  • Collaborate directly with the leadership team
  • Manage and reduce direct costs including raw materials and packaging as well as influence indirect costs
  • Adhere to company's purchasing policies
  • Cultivate vendor relationships and lead negotiations
  • Update purchasing policies and procedures as appropriate
  • Implement a commodity inventory strategy that is in line with the company's supply chain goals
  • Make recommendations to the leadership team for standardization, improvements and efficiencies
  • Manage to the budget and meet high quality and ethical standards
  • Monitor and report trends within the industry and identify possible areas of opportunity

Purchasing Manager Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree preferred
  • 5+ years of relevant purchasing experience
  • Management experience
  • Ability to manage and negotiate with vendors
  • Strong understanding of budgets and general accounting principles
  • Good problem solving and conflict management skills
  • Solid computer skills - MS Excel, Word and Power Point
  • Experience writing policies and standard operating procedures
  • Professional verbal and written communication
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities to meet deadlines
