Staff Accountant
Job Description
Your qualifications for the Staff Accountant position are as follows:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred, will consider comparable experience
- 1-3+ years recent accounting experience, specifically general ledger and payroll
- Non-profit experience preferred
- Solid understanding of accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Prior fund accounting experience is a plus
- Professional verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and well as independently
- Ability to maintain confidential information
- Temp to hire position
- Part time Monday – Friday between the hours of 8am-4:30pm with some flexibility on start/end times (30-35 hours/week schedule)
- Possibility for hybrid schedule once trained
- $25-$30/hour depending on skills and experience

- Reconcile multiple GL accounts
- Prepare/post journal entries
- Daily cash deposits and reporting
- Cash management
- Process credit card payments
- Collaborate with others to reconcile cash receipts
- Reconcile checking accounts
- Assist with audit activities
- Assist other accountants/departments as needed
- Identify and share areas for improvement
- Comply with company policies/standards and report non-compliance
- Other projects as assigned
